Walgreens information

Walgreens accepts Walgreens coupons and MF coupons. They do not allow overage on coupons, and will manually adjust down coupons that are more than the price of an item. Cashiers rarely know how to do this, so be prepared to ask for a manager. Its a pain. And the register will not accept more coupons than items. So if you buy 5 items with 5 coupons, and want to use another coupon that is $x off $xx purchase, be prepared to buy a 6th item. It can be something cheap, like a pack of gum, but the register simply will not take more coupons than items.

Walgreens does not have a loyalty card. They do what are called Register Rewards (RR's) that print for buying certain things. ** Special note: these expire QUICKLY. Usually 10-14 days from print date** For example, last week was buy a Fuzion Razor and refill cartridge set, get $6 in RR's which are good for your next visit. These are not good for postage stamps, gift cards, and some other small print exceptions, but good for almost all merchandise otherwise. I have had numerous problems with these printing. Often they do not print and the managers get extremely fussy printing them manually for you. They always want to act like its a problem for them! In addition, they will consistently make up rules as they go along, such as saying that if you use coupons, the RR will not print. This is not true, and a call to corporate will confirm this. However, since I have so many problems with them, I do not shop there often. It has to be something really worth it. You will see less posts about them from me.

Another bad thing is that most of their $x off $xx purchase coupons are AFTER coupons. For example, today they have a coupon out for $5 off a $25 purchase. But this is $25 after all coupons are taken off. Why is this a bad thing? Because I am hard pressed to spend $25 there once I use up coupons. I almost never reach that. Most of my drug store out of pockets are under $3 each week after coupons.

The only thing I can say good about them is the photo developing. They are often on time with the one hour photo compared to other places. And also located in the photo area, you can get ink refills for $12 on most cartridges either color or b & w, and there is often a coupon found in the advertisements or on the counter to get a discount.
