Walgreens!

So I do admit, I usually avoid this store because of all the problems I have with their RR system. There are two Wags near me, one usually doesnt have any of the sale items and the other the manager hates me because my RR never print and boy does she have an attitude about it! I think she must not like that I have called corporate to complain.... But I digress.

This week was WELL worth stopping in a couple of times. There are many items that are FREE after RR print. You can even use one RR to pay for another item and keep 'rolling' them all week as often as you can find the things on sale. Just one IMPORTANT reminder! Never use the RR from one deal to pay for the same deal again because it will not print another RR. For example, this week Rembrant toothpaste is $5 and prints a $5 RR. Do not use this printed RR to do the deal again, because it wont print the RR the second time. You MUST use a RR from another deal (like the toothbrush, razor, Theraflu, etc) to get the Rembrant RR to print. And the RR count towards your coupon to item ratio, so make sure you have enough items to cover it. For example, if you have want to buy Theraflu, using a coupon AND a RR, you need a cheapie filler item. Check the gum, snacks, or clearance area for filler items on the cheap. I got crayons on clearance for $0.19, a Rice Krispies treat for $0.40, etc.

  1. Sorry. I'm not versed in coupon savings talk. What's a RR?

  2. RR are Register Rewards. They look like receipts that print out after paying for the item good towards your next purchase. CVS has similar, but call theirs ECB's, Extra Care Bucks.

    Notes for each

Walgreens/RR- generally they have an expiration of 2 weeks. You cannot use one to pay for the same deal it printed from, as it wont print again. They are not good for postage or tax. These do count as a coupon, so you must have the same number of items as coupons, sometimes this requires a cheap filler item.

CVS/ECB's- These usually do not expire for a month. Some of them do cover tax, some do not. There is no way to tell until you use them, but for most transactions, tax is so small it doesnt matter. These DO NOT count as coupons, so you can still use one coupon per item, and as many ECB's as you want after that to pay for a transaction.
